Evaluation

Prosthetic Make-up allows us Make-up Artists to create the most amazing art work on the face and body. With most TVs now using HD channels, the make-up standards have got even higher as there can't afford to be any mistakes. This project 'Brave new World' introduced us into the SFX world of Make-up. I have really enjoyed working on this project as I have been able to use my creative skills further into creating something more than just make-up on the face, I have used my models faces as a canvas and created art onto their bodies. I feel that I have been consistently engaged into this project from beginning to end.

I think that my technical skills have definitely improved since the start of the year and I have gained a lot more confidence than what I had in my first year. I think that the final outcome for both my looks were a lot better than expected. My favourite look out of the two is the lumpy one as I feel that I have got the layout of the lumps perfect. Once thing that I would change if I was to re-create my looks again, I would stick to my original plan and use the Fullers Earth on my models neck for the Tribal inspired look as the gold make-up didn't show up as well as I had pleased.

This project has given me a better idea of what I want to achieve after I have finished my degree. I would enjoy creating special effects make-up for either film, TV or fashion shoots.
