BRAVE NEW WORLD
This unit will introduce me to the contexts relevant to the research, design of special effects make-up and prosthetics processes for a fashion led production. By exploring how changing its shape and texture can alter the appearance of the human face and body, I will develop an awareness of materials to distort, age and texture the skin. This will be used as the basis for creative design development and establish the relationship between research, design and realisation. I will further investigate, develop and design in response to a creative fashion brief. The unit encourages specialist technical development underpinned by an understanding of the principles of make-up and basic prosthetics for conceptual beauty design and realisation. I will soon develop an understanding of how complex techniques can be used creatively and will be encouraged to expand on an enquiring approach to the technical development of creative make-up for a specific beauty and fashion industry context.

To get this blog started I am going to research thoroughly the cult of the body and cultural diversity across a variety of countries in mainly Africa and Asia. I will find ways of adopting and creating a look by re-mapping the body and finding new ways of creating beauty through markings/scars on the body. I'm also going to research into the prosthetic body modification making body parts over exaggerated like collar bones.
I am going to create a new understanding of make-up and how it can be used in new ways to address beauty being brave and creative. Once I have gathered the research and inspiration that I need, I will create 2 final looks each considered carefully and must be appropriate for a Garde fashion editorial, consisting of one head shot and one mid length shot per image.
