Plastic Surgery

PLASTIC SURGERY

Plastic surgery has become a large part of peoples lives over the past years consisting of Breast enlargements, Bum implants, Botox, and facial alterations each costing a crazy amount of money! To me plastic surgery is a no-go. I don't think I could ever put myself through the pain of altering my body in any way, but that's because I'm happy with my body. Yes I might go on about my weight now and again, or worry about my hair and skin tone, but being naturally ginger can really suck sometimes! I suppose in a way I do alter my body through applying fake tan and changing the colour of my hair, but I could never ever go under the knife!

KATIE PRICE & NICKI MINAJ

Katie Price was first made famous after she'd gone under the knife for a very expensive breast enlargement. Some people may say that this looks 'nice' but I on the other hand think not! I think it's crazy the amount of money some people will spend on their bodies to create their perfect body image which to me doesn't look perfect at all! You may disagree, and that is fair enough, everyone has their own opinions but for me this is a big no no!

Nicki Minaj is another prime example of a celebrity with BIG statement body implants, and these implants are in her bum! I first noticed her larger backside in her music video 'Starships' displayed below. As you can obviously see her ass is stupidly and unrealistically big which I again I'm not keen on. I would much prefer to get into a routine of doing squats every night.
I think that to a certain extreme, plastic surgery can look amazing, but when the select few take it to the next level and try to make their body parts so big you can't help but notice them that is when I have a problem.

Below shows a quick sketch that I did to show the most common parts that people get surgery; the boobs, bum and belly.

KATIE PIPER

For Katie Piper, plastic surgery wasn't a choice. Back in 2008 she suffered a horrific sulphuric acid attack to the face arranged by an ex-boyfriend which left her face scared and blind in one eye.
She was rushed to hospital straight after the attack took place. She went straight into theatre where the surgeons removed all the skin from her face before rebuilding it with a skin substitute and then a skin graft. The procedure was the first of its kind to be completed in a single operation.

This is the kind of plastic surgery that I feel really matters. Yes you can alter the way your body looks just because you want to and think it'll make you look better, but when there's innocent people like Katie Piper who may have never planned to ever have surgery on her body has now had to be put through months and months of surgery and treatment to make herself feel 'normal' and accepted into society again.

The three images below show her in order of her life stages. The first image showing her during her modelling career not long before the attack. The second image shows her wearing her thin mask that she had to wear whilst her skin gained it's moisture again, and the third of her most recently looking amazingly beautiful again.
